Sugiit Lukxs Designs
We were honored to contribute to Yolonda Skelton’s breathtaking collection, The Ties That Bind, presented at this year’s Vancouver Indigenous Fashion Week. A significant portion of the pieces—including several of the wool-based designs—were crafted right here in our Cleveland workshop.
Each tie we produced was made from fine gauge merino wool, a fiber we selected for its softness, resilience, and natural beauty. Merino offers a rich drape and refined texture that pairs beautifully with Yolonda’s vision. Beyond its aesthetic, wool—especially merino—has long been recognized for its grounding qualities. It’s breathable, biodegradable, and carries a warmth that’s more than just physical.
Working with Yolonda, whose designs carry deep cultural resonance and energetic intention, pushed us to treat these pieces not just as garments, but as vessels—carriers of story, identity, and healing.
We’re grateful to play a part in work that is both fashion and ceremony.
